Arkansas State University – Windgate Center for Three Dimensional Arts

The 17,500 SF Windgate Center for Three-Dimensional Arts provides an expanded upgrade of ASU’s art facilities. In addition, the facility includes state-of-the-art kilns and workspaces for ceramics, a dedicated woodworking lab, a foundry for castings, a student studio and workspaces, and indoor and outdoor spaces for students, faculty, and visiting faculty to display their art. A long lobby space connects the studio areas and offers a view of the sculpture garden through large windows.

The beautiful, new facility replaces an 85-year-old, retrofitted gymnasium that previously housed ASU’s art programs. The new center is helping to transform the lives of ASU students and open up new possibilities for students in terms of their creativity and dedication to craft.

The facility was designed, constructed, and brought online during the COVID-19 pandemic, one of the most challenging periods in the history of American higher education.
