The new facility is a seven-story, 200-room full-service hotel with a restaurant, bar, lounge, pool, and fitness center. Also included are 35,524 SF of convention center space with pre-convention area and back-of-house space and a large banquet room with the capacity to seat over 900 guests.
The Delta by Marriot Hotel and Convention Center provides a venue for larger conventions that require a full-service hotel in the vicinity of the meeting space and enable the city of Wichita Falls to compete for recruiting such conventions. Currently there are no operational full-service hotels anywhere in Wichita Falls. However, an impact study showed the new facilities will bring more and larger conventions to Wichita Falls, and it is estimated the City’s Visitors & Convention Bureau will be able to apply for over 130 events once the facilities are completed.
The facility will also provide a significant economic impact to the community as it brings in more out of town visitors with the additional conventions held. The total estimated economic impact over a 10-year period is $67,382,923, from a study done by CBRE Hotels, a company who specializes in hotel market feasibility and econometric studies.
