This project involved construction of the 88,800 SF Hill Farm Elementary School and Campus and all related infrastructure work. The school’s spaces include a media center, computer labs, administration, health and guidance suites, kitchen, cafeteria, a large gymnasium for P.E. and assemblies, and a playground to serve 624 students. The building is arranged into three classroom wings with a main concourse that organizes students into similar age groups, creating a cohesive synergy for faculty and teaching materials. Common use spaces are located off the main concourse, allowing easy access for all grade levels.
The project achieved LEED Silver Certification. Sustainable features include natural lighting, low maintenance materials, low VOC materials, and high efficiency mechanical systems. Sustainable strategies included were rated based on their energy, maintainability, and capital and life cycle cost.
“From the initial design phase, together we were able to produce superior facilities for the students to occupy at the start of this school year, as initially scheduled, all of which were designed and constructed in under a year.”
