Founded in 1968, Pleasant Valley Country Club has long been a cornerstone of Little Rock’s heritage. To enhance the member experience and ensure the longevity of its facilities, Pleasant Valley Country Club recently underwent a transformative $20 million renovation and expansion of its 56-year-old Clubhouse. Clark Contractors served as the construction manager for this ambitious project, which spanned 45,000 square feet of renovations and a 3,500 square foot expansion.
The renovation introduced modern amenities while preserving traditional architectural elements. Among the many upgrades were new locker rooms featuring renovated showers, a sauna, and a steam room.
The Clubhouse’s entrance was raised to 12 feet and extended to enhance clearance and accessibility. A new exterior terrace overlooking the golf course created a versatile indoor/outdoor space, offering guests stunning views of the surrounding grounds.
Additional highlights of the project include a new kitchen, renovated Pro-Shop, renovated main dining room and 19th Hole Bar/Grille, event space, men’s and women’s Grille areas, all-new mechanical, electrical, and plumbing infrastructure, a new roof, covered patio, enhanced outdoor dining areas, and monumental steps; further elevating the member experience.
Early selection of Clark Contractors as the construction manager played a crucial role in the project’s success. By engaging in preconstruction planning and coordination, the team was able to optimize scheduling, procurement, and phasing strategies to minimize disruptions and maintain clubhouse operations. This proactive approach ensured the project was completed on time, allowing Pleasant Valley Country Club to successfully host the prestigious PGA Simmons Bank Championship event immediately following construction.
Clark Contractors was proud to be a part of this renovation and addition project that reflects Pleasant Valley Country Club’s commitment to maintaining its status as a premier country club, while ensuring it remains a welcoming and modern space for generations to come.
