The Wilson Place Renovation and Restoration project involved the comprehensive exterior restoration and interior renovation of the historic 11,134-square-foot structure. Work included critical foundation and structural repairs and modifications to preserve the integrity of the building. On the exterior, restoration efforts focused on masonry and wood elements, as well as the repair and rehabilitation of existing windows. Inside, the original wood flooring was carefully refinished to maintain the building’s historic character.
Modern system upgrades were a key component of the project. A new wet fire protection system was installed, along with an underground fire main, updated domestic water service, and a domestic booster pump. Mechanical and electrical improvements included a new HVAC system featuring a make-up air unit and VRF system, as well as a 1200-amp electrical service and upgraded life safety systems. The project also featured a complete redesign and redevelopment of the site’s hardscape and landscape, designed by renowned garden designer P. Allen Smith.
