Sustainability was a key focus of the project, incorporating reflective and high-emissivity roof materials, along with increased insulation ratings in wall and roof assemblies. Many building materials were sourced within 500 miles of the job site and selected for their low maintenance qualities. Efficient mechanical systems and LED lighting further enhanced the building’s energy efficiency.
The large auditorium was designed to support various uses, while adhering to a strict budget. To ensure optimal acoustics, the audience chamber and band room were shielded from exterior noise using decibel-blocking double walls, multiple layers of gypsum board, and enhanced insulation. Precisely calculated ceiling clouds eliminated dead zones, ensuring balanced sound distribution.
In addition to the performing arts building, Clark Contractors also managed the completion of multiple improvements for Heber Springs School District, including a 5,585 SF high school cafeteria addition and renovation, a 3,153 SF elementary administration addition and renovation, and a 1,600 SF occupational and physical therapy classroom addition and renovation.
