The addition of 19,876 SF to the existing Windgate Art & Design Building expands academic offerings at the university. The first-floor addition includes key instructional spaces for the woodshop and ceramics studios, and classrooms. There is a reconfigured and expanded permanent collection storage space, and collection study/artwork handling room. Papermaking facilities are expanded and re-located. A digital fabrication suite for the Graphic Design Program, new entrance for the Book Arts Center, and a cafe round out the first floor.
The second floor contains faculty offices and studio spaces for artists in resident and students alike. The third floor has a covered veranda and rooftop patio that serves as an outdoor classroom, drawing studio, and event space.
