On the fourth floor, the Multicultural Center received a complete redesign guided by the concept of “Thread.” Modular furniture, fabric-wrapped walls and ceilings, and layered lounge spaces were thoughtfully arranged to promote interaction, comfort, and inclusivity. The new layout allows students from all backgrounds to come together in both intimate and large-group settings. Key features include a conversation pit lounge, a renovated kitchen, private offices, and a glass-fronted gallery space with track lighting and art display systems designed to spark dialogue and cultural exchange.
The sixth floor, home to Student Organizations, followed the theme of “Weave,” with the space opened up to encourage cross-collaboration between groups. Student Affairs offices, including ASG, New Student & Family Programs, and Student Activities, were reorganized for improved visibility and accessibility. The updated layout features high-end finishes, flexible gathering areas, a new kitchen, and access to a renovated balcony that provides an inviting extension for student interaction and events.
Throughout construction, Clark worked closely with the University of Arkansas and Hufft Architect to maintain functionality within the building while delivering these impactful upgrades. The result is a vibrant, inclusive, and forward-thinking environment where all students can feel seen, supported, and empowered.
